I am interested in eTwinning - how do I get started?
The first thing to do is to register on eTwinning, and create your profile. You will then be able to participate in groups, start to take part in projects, and access eTwinning’s training & professional development. Visit the eTwinning self-teaching materials for tips and tutorials on getting started.
What is an eTwinning Project?
An eTwinning project can be carried out by two or more teachers, teams of teachers or subject departments, librarians, head teachers and pupils from schools across Europe.
You can work on any topic you and your partner wish to work on. Projects should have a good balance of ICT use and classroom activities, and should preferably fit into the national curricula of the schools participating in the project.
To create a project there must be at least two schools. Please note: projects must have schools from at least 2 different countries to be eligible for a European Quality Award or eTwinning Prize.

Which countries are part of eTwinning?
eTwinning applies to the Member States of the European Union: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Overseas territories and countries are also eligible. In addition, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Former Yugoslav Republic Of Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Serbia and Turkey can also take part.
eTwinning Plus includes six countries from the European neighbourhood – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, which are part of the Eastern Partnership and Tunisia, which is part of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership (EUROMED).
I forgot my password. What do I do?
Click on “Forgot your password?” in the login box of the Portal’s homepage. Insert the email address that you used for registration and hit “submit”. You will then receive your login data and a new password.
One of my pupils has forgotten his password to the TwinSpace. How do I retrieve this information?
Find the pupil's name in the members section of the TwinSpace and click on “Reset password”.
TIP: When you invite your pupils to the TwinSpace, keep a separate file with the usernames and passwords.
We’ve tried to change the data of the contact person in our Profile. Now, neither the old contact nor the new contact can login. What do we do?
You can get your login data by clicking on “Forgot my password” in the login box. Follow the same procedure as if you had forgotten your password.
I am no longer working at my school. How do I remove myself from the Portal?
If you are no longer working in a school, you can remove yourself from the list by logging into eTwinning Live, clicking on the the profile icon ➜ edit my account ➜ privacy and security ➜ deactivate profile.
I have changed schools and would like to transfer my profile to my new school.
I have changed schools and would like to transfer my profile to my new school. If you have changed schools, you can deactivate your school first, via your profile, and then create a new school connection through eTwinning Live by clicking on “Add a school”.

The most recent Adobe Flash Player
Microsoft Proxy Server, later known as Microsoft ISA Server and Microsoft TMG Server incorrectly handles session variables which can result in user sessions being mixed up. This product has been discontinued in 2012. By using this piece of software, users may experience problems in keeping users’ sessions.

What does the eTwinning app offer?
The eTwinning mobile app, launched in October 2017, is accessible by eTwinning users and focuses on notifications and actions related to eTwinning Live. In particular:
- Users’ feeds and internal messages
- Project, group and contact invitations
Users can also use the app to perform some basic actions such as replying to a message, or accepting a contact request, project or group invitation.
The eTwinning App is seamlessly connected with a mobile version of eTwinning Live and it’s available in all eTwinning languages.
The app can be used on both mobile and tablet devices. It can be downloaded from the App or Google Play stores. Please note that to run the app at full capacity, it is recommended that your device has a version of its operating system that is:
- Android 4.4.0 or newer
- iOS 10.3 or newer
