A new chapter in eTwinning - Vocational education and Training

After 14 successful years of supporting primary and secondary education, eTwinning is eager to increase and recognise the work of vocational education and training schools (VET) across Europe.

This is part of a wider policy of the European Union aimed at better equipping people with knowledge, know-how, skills and/or competences required on the labour market.

Teachers registering in eTwinning will now be able to indicate whether their school is a VET school. As a result, they will find it easier to create projects with likeminded professionals, bringing forward the importance and innovation of vocational education and training.

Cedefop’s (European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training) definition of VET is ‘education and training which aims to equip people with knowledge, know-how, skills and/or competences required in particular occupations or more broadly on the labour market’ (Cedefop, 2014 b, p. 292)

Already registered eTwinners who work in VET Schools are encouraged to contact their National Support Service to update the schools’ details.
