Projects of the Month Little Explorers Children perform a series of activities such as research games and experiments. Children and teachers analyse the results and describe, exchange and publish them on the project’s website.

Quality Label Play to Learn Kylli Children compare and learn about games, toys and songs in different countries using photos, videos and descriptions published on a common project blog. The children then discuss and comment on their partner schools’ published activities and in turn learn a lot about their own cultures and traditions.

News eTwinning Prizes: Update The finalists for the 2008 prizes will be contacted and announced on the eTwinning Portal at the end of January. The eventual winners and runners-up will then be announced and awarded at the eTwinning prize-giving ceremony in March during the eTwinning Conference 2008.

News FlashMeeting and eTwinning on TV Recently, the national television station ‘France 2’ did a special feature on eTwinning and its video-conferencing partner tool, FlashMeeting. Have a look at the video clip to learn more about how eTwinning uses FlashMeeting.

Belgium/Netherlands: Contact Seminar On 5 March in Antwerp, teachers from Flanders and The Netherlands will come together to learn about examples of good practice and partner-finding tools.
Spain: Doctoral Thesis on eTwinning (pdf) A very interesting doctoral thesis by Prof. Benito Moreno Peña has recently been published by the University of Granada. It focuses on the development of eTwinning and its role in implementing a European dimension in education.
United Kingdom: Back to School Campaign Building on last year’s successful campaign, the UK NSS is running a Back to School campaign from 15 January-15 February 2008 to coincide with the Comenius deadline for School Partnerships.
Bulgaria: Valorisation Conference On 11 December, a valorisation conference on “eTwinning, Euroguidance & Europass - Networks for European collaboration on the Lifelong Learning Programme” took place to present contributions from the three activities in Bulgaria. For eTwinning, four pupils were awarded for their winning e-card contributions. |
Spain: New national website To kick of the new year, the Spanish NSS has launched a new website to better serve schools in Spain as well as schools interested in Spanish partners.
Estonia: Training Seminars On 4 and 11 January, Estonia held training sessions for teachers in Tallinn and Tartu. The teachers were able to try out the various eTwinning Portal tools and learn about good practice.
Slovakia: Contact Seminar (Photogallery) From 29-30 November, a contact seminar for teachers from Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland took place in Zilina. The seminar was an opportunity to learn about eTwinning and find partners.
Bulgaria: eTwinning Teacher Awarded Honorary diplomas for contributions to the development of European educational programmes were awarded in December. An eTwinning teacher was awarded for developing and increasing the popularity of eTwinning in Bulgaria.
