eTwinning Prize Ceremony and Annual Conference   2007!
Over 450 people attended the annual eTwinning   Conference on 23 February 2007 in Brussels. In an awards ceremony which included a wonderful children’s choir, “The Colours of Music” from Bierbeck in Belgium, the 2007 prizes were officially announced. European Commissioner Ján Figel’ presented the awards to the winning and runner-up projects for their excellent achievement.

From all of us here at the Central Support Service, we would like to congratulate all teachers and students for their excellent work. It is your dedicated work that has made eTwinning such a success!

The Greek-Finnish eTwinning project “SnowSun” has created the very first ‘eTwinning postal stamp’ as part of their project activities.

What's going on in Europe

Belgium: Flanders Expo
From 5-8 March, eTwinning will be present at “Flanders Expo Ghent” education fair. Teachers who visit the eTwinning stand will be entered in a lottery to win a webcam for their class.

Slovenia: KONFet National Conference
On 2 April, the National eTwinning Conference in Slovenia, known as “KONFet”, will award the Golden Cable Awards for eTwinning excellence. It will take place in the capital of Ljubljana.

United Kingdom: National Prizes Launched
The national 2007 Prizes have now been launched in the UK for 2006/2007 school year projects. The deadline to submit is 4 May 2007. Winners will be notified and prizes awarded at the national conference on 17 June 2006.

Finland: National Ambassadors
Six active teachers have been appointed as eTwinning ambassadors to assist NSS to organise regional training sessions and communicate with teachers locally.

Slovenia: European Workshop
From 19-22 April, a Professional Development Workshop for approximately eighty language teachers will take place in the city of Nova Gorica.

Italy: National Quality Label
130 Italian eTwinning schools have applied for Italian Quality Award. The awarding ceremony will be in Florence in May. A Commission of experts will judge the entries. Good luck to all entrants!
