Work together and be organised – manage your work, photos and files |
 |
The TwinSpace contains a Content Management System (CMS) which enables you to organise, create and share documents. These documents are then easily and directly accessible to the involved partners. |
 |
Folders To organise your TwinSpace, group your documents into folders that are then accessible from the left-side navigation bar (the so-called “root“). Some partners keep one folder for documents related to the organisation of the project (list of pupils, project plan, etc.) and use a separate folder for each project activity.
In folders, you can create a website, a photo gallery and a forum. To upload documents from your computer and share them with partners, use the file archives.
Web pages The web page tool offers a template where you can display a picture and text. Partners can use it to introduce pupils, their school or town. It is possible to format the text, change colours and characters. If used appropritely, the final product looks very nice.
It is much better to use the website template than to put text and pictures into a word document. The webpage tool is also an excellent way to make your pupils concentrate on accuracy, structure and synthesis. They can contain links to other Internet resources on your project, such as school websites, blogs, wikis, podcasts, etc.
Photo Gallery Here, teachers or pupils can upload pictures from their computer. The gallery looks attractive and pictures can be enlarged. It is possible to create galleries on various topics. eTwinners use the photo gallery to document their work, e.g., their forum debates, school trips or national holidays.
Forum The main TwinSpace forum is there by default but if you wish, more forums can be created in folders to allow for separate discussions on various project activities. This is done using the Content Management System (CMS).
File archive In file archives you can store many types of documents that you can upload from your computer. Partners usually share text documents, PowerPoint presentations, Excel files, audio files (MP3) and short videos. Pedagogically, pupils learn to agree on final documents and then classify, share and exchange them.
PowerPoint presentations are popular with many eTwinners as they are dynamic and combine the use of text and picture but also sounds and videos. They use them to introduce their school, country, local traditions or customs to their partners. Graphs created in Excel are often used to show results of surveys run in partner schools.
