Global collaboration since 1988
iEARN is a global network where schools from all over the world collaborate on common projects.

There are over 150 projects in iEARN. To join, participants select an online project and see how they can integrate it into their curriculum and classroom activities.

With the project selected, schools group in teams of six to eight. Each school carries out its own work on the project, but contributes to each others’. For this purpose, teachers and students enter online forum spaces to meet, cooperate and share.

The projects enable students to develop

  • Research and critical thinking skills,
  • Experience with new technologies,
  • Cultural awareness,
  • The habit of getting involved in community issues.

Read the interview with Edwin Gragert (en, pdf), director of iEARN-USA, on how projects like iEARN and eTwinning can help teachers use ICT for collaboration across borders.
