eTwinning Camp 2007: A Great Success!
From 25-29 April, the 2007 eTwinning Prize Winners came together in Sicily to meet their partners, make new friends and learn about ICT under the sun!

Classes from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Spain, Poland and Italy travelled to Città del Mare in Sicily, Italy, to participate in the second annual eTwinning Camp after having won the eTwinning Prizes 2007 competition earlier this year.

Over the course of three full days, both pupils and teachers participated in various workshops to learn how to use new tools and discuss important issues related to education and ICT, European citizenship and internet safety.

To expand on their knowledge of ICT tools, pupils learned how to make digital clay animations, create digital cartoons and produce audio podcasts. Then, following the theme of “Celebrating Europe Through eTwinning”, pupils learned about the EU institutions, participated in role play and produced skits about internet safety. While pupils worked, teachers participated in their own workshops on intercultural communication, media education and internet safety.

When not in workshops, pupils and teachers did a great job of sharing their countries’ cultures through song, dance, drama and food. They also had some time to relax and explore the grounds of Città del Mare and take an afternoon excursion into Palermo.

All in all, everyone had a great time and enjoyed the opportunity to meet their partners and have a real international school experience in a warm and sunny location.
