European knights - from medieval to fantasy literature |

Students (13-18 year-olds) present the most famous knights in national history and literature and learn about tales and heroes from medieval times. |

Students use their mother languages to prepare materials, and then translate them into English.

What students do
- Gather information on the subject.
- Select the most famous national medieval knight and present him.
- Make a list of medieval castles and ruins, collect photos and make a small research about the history.
- Summarize a story, novel, tale or film about medieval times. Present author or director.
- Look for trace of templars, cathares, mercenaries or other chivalry orders in their country. Make a map showing places where they lived.
- Describe the most famous medieval battle in national history.
- Present a fantasy literature hero from own literary tradition.
- Draw pictures of the hero.
- Translate texts into English with the help of teachers, and send materials by e-mail to the other school.
- Project an internet site with the collected materials.
- Compare the productions of both schools and reflect on how the image of ideal knight was created.
- Prepare a final exhibition from the materials collected in the project. Present it for people from other schools.
