Sylvia Binger
Sylvia Binger is by training a teacher of English and Art in Germany. She joined the EUN Office’s school networking team in August 2004.

Sylvia has long term experience from secondary education where she has taught at a comprehensive and grammar school, an international school and for a short period of time at a vocational school. She also taught business English to adults in private companies and educational centres and worked in the shipping sector.

Prior to joining the EUN, Sylvia was Head of Foreign Languages at a grammar school in Berlin. She has a thorough understanding of administrative and technological issues related to European projects. She organized a big school event for Berlin schools on behalf of the local school authorities in the European year of Languages in 2001. For the Berlin teacher training centre she worked as a moderator for workshops on quality assurance in language teaching.

Sylvia was a member of the local Commission of the German Federal Language Competition (BWFS) for which she evaluated pupils contributions in various fields. She was also invited as juror on federal level.

For many years, Sylvia was the coordinator of Comenius projects involving a daily use of Information and Communication Technologies. In the first two years of the Spring Day project, Sylvia worked as a pedagogical advisor on the initiative in Germany. The main tasks were to select thematic resources for teachers and students, provide them with helpful pedagogical advice, run a national pedagogical web site in German, help teachers and students to carry out their individual projects and disseminate the initiative in Germany.
