Teachers and pupils from the winning eTwinning Prizes 2008 projects headed to Vimeiro, Portugal, from 7-11 May to spend four days by the ocean getting to know each other and taking part in both ICT related and cultural activities.
With a group of over 100 people, everyone had a great time and many friends were made. By the final morning, it was really hard to say goodbye!

eTwinning Project among Finalists in Stockholm Challenge
We are proud to announce that the eTwinning project “Maths to Play” has made it to the finals of the international Stockholm Challenge competition. The winners will be announced at the end of the month.
E-Español: Language Learning and Podcasting

Europe: Primary school ICT Survey
If you teach in a primary school, share your ICT successes in eTwinning and other activities with others.
Participate in European Schoolnet’s STEPS survey and you could win an iPod!
Lithuania: project inspired by Klimt
Pupils from Lithuania, Italy, Slovakia and Romania learn about Gustav Klimt’s paintings and life and create and exchange their own creations based on the painter’s technique and style.
Sweden/Finland: Contact Seminar
From 18-20 September, Swedish and Finnish teachers will meet in the Åland Islands for an eTwinning contact seminar. The target group is teachers in secondary and upper-secondary schools. Deadline to apply: 31 May.
Hungary: eTwinning Competition Day 2008
The annual Hungarian eTwinning Competition Day took place on 25 April at the Kempelen Farkas Student Information and Resource Centre (HIK), in Budapest. The top six projects were announced and awarded.

Poland: 3-Country Contact Seminar
From 10-11 April, 60 teachers from Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia took place in the Polish town of Sucha Beskidzka. The event helped the teachers develop interesting ideas and find partners for future collaboration.
Lithuania: Meeting Fellow Countryman Abroad
Žydrūnas Tautvydas, an ICT teacher in Lithuania, took part in the recent eTwinning PDW in Bonn where he met fellow countryman, Peter Krakow, who had emigrated from Lithuania to Germany after the war.
Slovakia: National Awards Competition
Slovakian schools involved in an eTwinning project during the 2007/2008 school year - from kindergarten, primary or secondary schools – are invited to submit their projects for the annual national awards. Deadline to apply: 4 June.
Spain: National Blog Launched
The Spanish National Support Service has recently launched a national blog for Spanish teachers to share their experience of eTwinning and ICT in school. Teachers outside Spain are also welcome to contribute.
