Project Lottery Winners: How They Got Started in eTwinning |
 |
During the course of the eTwinning Weeks this fall, three new projects were the winners of a lottery that awarded teachers with a brand new MP3 player for their class. Learn about how our winning teachers got started. |
 |
Amongst almost 250 projects registered and approved during the special eTwinning Weeks (25 September - 15 October 2006), three projects were awarded as the winners of the 'Project Lottery'. After talking to our winning teachers, we learned about just how easy it was for them to find partners and get started on their new eTwinning projects.
Week 1 Project Winner: "All about us for you" Piotr Sznajder from Zespół Placówek Oświatowych, Poland; Paula Cristina Vieira Barbosa from Escola E. B. 2,3 Lamaçães, Portugal; and Edita Gavranovic from Osnovna sola Marije Vere, Slovenia.
- After learning about eTwinning through a special presentation, Piotr registered himself on the eTwinning Portal and put his project idea forward using the Partner-Finding Forum. After getting in touch with Paula Cristina and Edita – mainly through the Mailbox but also the Chat function in the eTwinning Desktop – they discussed ideas further, registered their project on the Portal and began working together just two weeks after their initial contact! Their students are all very enthusiastic and a final presentation after a year of working together is already planned.
Week 2 Project Winner: "Democrazia e libertà personale" Rosaria Canelli from Liceo Scientifico Statale Arzano, Italy; and Krzysztof Bukowski from Zespół Szkół Ekonomicznych nr 1, Poland
- Upon seeing the work of another class in his school working in eTwinning, Krzysztof decided to get involved in his own project. He registered himself on the Portal and through the TwinFinder, he and Rosaria got in touch and further developed Krzysztof’s original project idea. Most of their work is done so far by email but they will soon incorporate chat and videos. At the end of the project, it is hoped that a visit will take place so that the classes can meet each other.
Week 3 Project Winner: "Planete @dos" Brigitte Vaudoric from Lycée Geneviève de Gaulle Anthonioz, France; and Marina Marino from Liceo Scientifico Statale "Francesco Cecioni", Italy
- Through a website for teachers of Italian in France, Brigitte and Marina got in touch and decided to register a project together on the eTwinning Portal. Together they created their project idea through contact by email and chat as well as Skype as it allowed them to easily talk to one another. They plan to create a forum and online magazine and have already created a blog for the students to get to know each other: http://wwwados.blogspot.com/.
We would again like to congratulate our winners! We hope that the MP3 players will prove useful in your project work, and we look forward to hearing about your progress!
