An eTwinning Holiday Story |
 |
Just in time for the holiday season, schools from 15 countries come together in an eTwinning project to create a multi-national Advent calendar |
 |
Whether it's singing carols, putting up decorations or baking special treats, each country in Europe has a special way of celebrating the December holidays. For this reason, schools across the Continent are learning about each other's holiday season traditions through an online Advent calendar.
Each day of the "eTwinning Virtual European Advent Calendar" is dedicated to a different country. By clicking on the day, you can find out about the history of the holiday season in a specific country and how they prepare for it: what kind of food is prepared, what stories are told, and how it is all celebrated.
Involving schools from the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom, schools give information about their country’s holiday traditions through online slide presentations. The experience so far has been very rewarding for both teachers and students as demonstrated through the project’s blog.
We would like to congratulate all members of this eTwinning holiday traditions project for their interesting work and wish everyone in eTwinning a safe and happy holiday season!
Happy Holidays!
