Our project is a sample study to ascertain and to supply the deficiency of our education system. We would like to draw people’s attention to the teaching of the concept of “rights” because we think this should be underlined in our education system. Nowadays there is so much emphasis on the necessity of the preschool education, but we do not teach “rights” at a very early age. As a solution to this problem we consider the importance of the teacher’s role in initiating group works and motivation activities. We have made questionnaires with families and supported our studies with face to face dialogues with them. We also arranged visual studies such as project assignments and bulletin board studies.

A Child’s characteristics begins to come into being and his personality is shaped by the samples around him. In this period, the features of the characteristics come into existence which will last forever in his life. Therefore, the behaviour he learns, the information he gets and the visual perceptions he puts in his mind are kept permanently. At this point, a question needs to be answered. As educationalists are we late for teaching the concepts such as “seeking justice”, “learning the rights”, “being aware of his/her rights” and “not to ignore others’ rights”?. This is a very painstaking question to be answered in our education system. I have carried out some researches and made some observations to answer this question myself. In my opinion, the answer is “yes”. In our education system, there is no such concept unfortunately, or we do not pay enough attention to it. What is more important that since we do not start it in preschool education period, there occurs mismatch in timing. For a child the most important role modesl are his parents at home, and his teachers at school. Teachers play a very important role in children’s lives at the same time they give valuable quality to their teachers. Children copy their teachers’ hair styles, the way of their talking and even their smiling. Thus, it so natural that they will adopt permanent features concerning their characteristics from their teachers. A teacher’s motivation, drive, and classroom actvities gain importance when students learn to “seek justice” in the classroom. With this type of learning the child can build up the foundations of his character during preschool education period. He will be a person who fights for his rights, builds awareness in this subject, carries positive qualities of this awareness, and is appreciated by the society. If we take in hand that the concept of “quality in education” is very important in universal platforms, “learning the rights” at school should not be ignored.
