Everything started from the strong interest that had the teachers of the two schools to cooperate through Etwinning. This project is about the creation of a handmade book with draws and wishes from the children of one school to the children of the other, which will be exchanged by post. It’s simple but interesting and creative. Give to all of us-teachers and kids- the opportunity to understand its other and can be the beginning of a longer cooperation with a next project more complicated and demanded.

Then we will express our interest to start a communication with them, through mails, photos, maybe messages in the MP3…We will propose them to work together the Book of Wishes and we will explain how that can be real. We will exchange opinions, ideas, and proposals. After their acceptance, we will start to know each others by sharing information about the traditions of the two countries for Christmas Day and the New Year. With this way, the children will start to understand that other children in Europe live similar lives; even they don’t speak the same language. That they can’t travel to see them but that they can meet them in the parallel life of the Internet.. They will be able to let the fear for the unknown fly away and the acceptance of the different will take his place. Then, we will start create our Books of Wishes. Every child will have the opportunity to make a draw and write a wish-with the help of her teacher- using different materials and techniques. The teachers will put the subtitles in the language of communication. English. Of course we will be open to any new idea -from teachers and children- to add it for a better result. We will be open too, to any other school who would like to enjoy us. With all that work, we will create our handmade Books of Wishes and then we will exchange them by post. So, when we will receive the Book of the other school, we will read the wishes and we will look at the draws that are sent from our new friends. It’s a good opportunity for us, as teachers, to discuss with our class, the meaning of friendship, of giving and accepting with joy, of sharing, of being secure enough to accept the new, the different. Then, they can borrow the Book at home and share it with family and friends. hide
