Get ready for the next eTwinning events!

From over 300 project submissions, we are pleased to announce the winners of the eTwinning Prizes. The winning projects demonstrated excellent achievements and we look forward to rewarding them in person at the eTwinning Conference & Camp 2011 in Budapest, from 31 March to 2 April. The event will have a special prize-giving ceremony so don’t forget to follow all the eTwinning Conference & Camp activities online!

In addition to the Conference and Camp, eTwinning is encouraging to learn the language of a neighbouring country; have a look at the Portal to find out more about this initiative, which includes a special Multilingualism project kit, and a message from Androulla Vassiliou, the EU education commissioner and much more.

We are all in Europe

The aim of this project is to compare the way of living in Italy and in Belgium using ICT tools. The final outputs are a presentation of the school system in both countries and a touristic guide of pupils’ towns.

Electronic Music Teacher

Each school prepares music material using innovation methods, special presentations, new music compositions, video and Skype, helping other schools without music teacher to find useful material. Finally all the schools work together to create and present their online orchestra and choir.

What language do your neighbours speak?

In 2011, eTwinning is encouraging you to learn the language of a neighbouring country through initiatives including interviews with teachers, example projects and a special European eTwinning prize.

uk flag Belgium (French-speaking community): Postcard competition has its winners!

The postcard competition launched by France, Belgium, Italy and The Netherlands ended on 15 January. Two pupils, Marie Thils and Arthur Gengler, won a cash price for the ICT equipment of their classroom.

Do you want to learn more about eTwinning? Come to the third national conference on « ICT on schools », on 19 March, in Gosselies.


DE Estonia: eTwinning online training on the educational portal “Koolielu”

Estonian teachers are now welcome to join the eTwinning online training activities on the educational portal www.koolielu.ee. The training will focus on eTwinning project work.

From 28-29 January, the eTwinning training for beginners took place in Tartu, Estonia.


flag France: a new French eTwinning portal www.etwinning.fr!

Since the beginning of February, there is a new eTwinning website in France! Teachers will be able to easily find more information and guidance about pedagogical and technical issues. The site also showcases several eTwinning projects.


Estonia flag Italy: National training for eTwinning ambassadors

The Italian NSS will organise a two-day seminar for its eTwinning ambassadors which will be held in Rimini from 24-26 March. The training contents will be development of skills for organising and moderating small eTwinning workshops, and discussion and sharing on how to increase the eTwinning general quality for projects.


Germany flag Italy: New video tutorial web section

A section collecting a range of video tutorials on eTwinning tools is now available on the national website. The video are clear and practical descriptions made by the eTwinning ambassadors, describing the step-by-step process to registration, partner finding and project work.


flag Poland: Thematic conference for history and civic studies teachers

A national thematic eTwinning conference for history and civic studies teachers will take place on 18 March in Warsaw. Teachers will be able to discuss methods for project work, learn about eTwinning tools as well as share good practice examples.

The Slovenian NSS is pleased to announce the winners of the eTwinning video contest. Congratulations to all!


Greece flag Slovakia: Accredited courses via Internet launched

A set of accredited 30-hour courses have been organised in eleven cities in Slovakia about schools projects and international partnerships via Internet. eTwinning teachers are welcome to join.


Greece flag Slovakia: Slavic contact seminar for teachers

From 13-16 March, a Slavic contact seminar will take place in the Czech town of Olomouc near the Slovak border. Pedagogues will have the opportunity to communicate in their own native language.

A new special link for head teachers is now available on the Slovakian eTwinning website with news, information, and videos about good practice.

The eTwinning National Support Service has got a new and improved webpage in which content and design play an important role to offer eTwinners more visibility.


Greece flag Turkey: new national eTwinning website now available!

The Turkish eTwinning website has been updated and is now ready to be used by all Turkish eTwinners. Teachers can access support information as well as photos and videos of workshops organised in Turkey.


Greece flag Turkey: new video to present eTwinning

A new video has been made with successful eTwinners in Turkey with the aim of presenting the project throughout the country. The video will be distributed to all cities in Turkey and is also on the national website.
