| I work as an English teacher at a primary school in Istanbul which is a fascinating city with its historical importance, geographical features and natural beauty. My stundets are 9-14 years old.My teacher friends and l are volunteers to share your project and wiling to help you in order to make your project better and better. Actually, l estimate that everybody knows something about Istanbul however l want to draw attention to the importance of this city, 2010 European capital of culture. Istanbul is a big flower whose each leaf representing a different culture and the soil supporting this flower is the past civilizations lived in Istanbul. No doubt, the most important ones of these civilizations are Byzantine Empire and Ottoman Empire. Istanbul was capital city of these big empires since it includes many cultural aspects and has importance in lots of areas just like it has now. If you choose our school you can come to this city of civilizations and have the chance to see many historical works of art belongs to Ottoman Empire, Byzantine Empire and others such as Dolmabahce Palace, Topkapı Palace, Philoksenus Cistern, Basilica Cistern, Hagia Sophia (Saint Sophia) , Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar. Certainly, the beauty of Istanbul is not only reason for you to choose our school as partner for your project. Our students do not have very chance to meet different people especially foreigners as our school is in a rural part of Istanbul. We try to prepare some trips to the historical places in Istanbul to introduce them both Istanbul’s beauty and different cultures by the help of the tourists. On the other hand, it is necessary for them to develop their point of view. For this reason we think that if you come to our school you can help them develop their point of view and show your culture. You can sure that you will learn lots of things from our students, also because our students come from different regions of Turkey so they includes their own region cultural features and this represents you the opportunity to know about Turkey better. Moreover be sure that they are so hardworking and ambitious. They can do all of the duties they undertake. Lastly don’t forget that our students are so friendly and they will be good hosts for you. |
