Learning by doing. We let our pupils learn history through making works of art or tools used by man in a certain period, from the prehistoric period to the Romans. It is generally said that “stone” is the most faithful escort humanity has ever had. Keeping that in mind, it is easy accepted that human culture is strictly related with the use of “stone” both in everyday occupation and expounds within its elaboration, changing its shape from means of survival (weapons, tools) to means of civilization (solid constructions, sculpture and art in general). Therefore, “stone”, as a material, plays a leader part in all kinds of human inspiration and expression. From pictures or graffiti in the stone to Mosaic we explore the art of stones, as a human life artistic expression of the ancient times. In Italy there's a specialized group of teachers working in school De Calboli, following the activity "Fare Storia" with children, from the third to the fifth year.
