Students and teachers from seven schools, each located in a different European country, will collaborate together in order to become familiar with the different cultures of each partner school’s home country through the use of drama and the arts. Every school involved in this project will first create a PowerPoint presentation on their school as well as their national culture for posting on the eTwinning site. These presentations will then be viewed by students from all schools to provide background information on each partner school. Each school will then translate one national fairytale into English and then post this translated work on the eTwinning site for all partner schools to view. Students from all schools will then read all of these translated stories in their English classes, and teachers will also translate all the stories from English into the school’s own national language. After reading each story in English class, students will draw illustrations of their favorite scenes of the story in art class. Each school will create an exhibition of the students’ art work for the community, including local media, in order to further spread the unique stories from each partner school’s culture. Also at the exhibition, the school will include the written stories from all partner schools in English and in the national language where the exhibition is being held.In addition to learning new fairytales from different countries, students will perform their own national fairytale in English as a play for their family, friends, and classmates. These performances will be recorded on DVD and sent to all partners to watch in English classes, and pictures will be taken for posting on the eTwinning site. All partners will send seven illustrations of the project seven national stories to take part in common partners exhibition. The exhibition will be oppen for first time in Kazanlak,Bulgaria and after that will travel to Pisa,Italy. In January 2010 in Pisa, Italy second exhibition will be open and in the same time there will be a meeting of the partners for discussions of experiences from the project. The project will further benefit students outside of the educational context by providing them an opportunity to contact students from different backgrounds and to create new friendships. The project will also benefit all partner schools and partner countries by exposing their national literature and culture to a wide-ranging and diverse audience. This aim will benefit students by opening their minds to different cultures and by helping them to accept the differences that exist among differing cultures.
