Hello! I am a Portuguese teacher who has been teaching English for a long time. Actually I have already participated in an exchange school programme with an Italian school, which turned out to be rather enriching. This time I would like my students, aged fifteen/sixteen, to get the opportunity to also build meaningful connections with foreign students, via net, thus sharing their culture and improving their English. I teach English as a foreign language at a lovely schooll in the city of Espinho in the North of Portugal. Most of my pupils have great difficulty in understanding the value of any foreign language because they rarely come across it in real life situations. Apart from Music, Cinema and Television, which I naturally often resort to in order to motivate them, they never actually NEED to use English... so I was hoping to put them in contact with English-speaking peers in order to create in them an affective relationship with this language and to promote their European-citizenship awareness.
