I am Engin TENŞİ and I am the director in Merkez Primary School. At first I want to mention about my school which educates the pupils between 5 and 14. Merkez is a big family with its 500 students and 35 teachers. My School is a state school and known as one of the most successful schools in Yeşilova-Burdur- TURKEY. There are many social activities in our school held by students such as; poetry competitions, art competitions, excursions, sports, conferences and as a whole we believe that taking part in a project will cause us to win so many experiences. As you may have heard about Turkey, our country accepted to have lots of cultural and historical beauties both because of its history and location as it is located both in Europe and Asia. So I think there is no need to say how different experiences your pupils will live by visiting a country like Turkey. In each class in school, we provide a computer with projection machine, smart board and lesson softwares that students interact so we increase pupil motivation. We are ready to welcome all dynamic, motivated, hardworking, enthusiastic teachers. Burdur is a medium-sized city with a population of 80,000. It is easy to reach. Yeşilova has got a lot of historical places and the most famous one Salda Lake. Lake Salda is a mid-size crater lake in southwestern Turkey, within the boundaries of Yeşilova district depending Burdur Province, and it lies at a distance of about fifty kilometers to the west from the province seat of Burdur. Salda is often cited as part of the Turkish Lakes Region that corresponds to the lands that extend across inner west- to southern Anatolia, especially in the provinces depending Isparta and Afyonkarahisar, although Lake Salda is geographically separate from the larger lakes which are more to the west and, being a crater lake, is morphologically different. The shoreline surrounded by black pine forests are also popular among hunters, the game and the fowl available including quails, hares, foxes, boars and wild ducks, aside from the lake's fish. White sandy beaches, limpid water and seven crystal-white islets within the lake complete the scenery. A township that starts almost at the shore to the southwest of the lake carries the same name, Salda. COME AND JOIN US!
