This Comenius project will bring together seven countries across Europe in order to learn about our own and each others culture, language and traditions through stories. The focus will be on children stories, traditional tales, comics and legends. Language and literary skills both in the mother tongue and in foreign language learning will be improved by sharing and comparing these stories with our European partners. In the beginning of the first year a story character from every country will collect typical stories from all schools which will be turned into plays and performed at all schools in the summer term. In a quiz we will find out which story and cartoon charaters the children in all partner countries know and love. In the second project year the pupils’ creativty will be challenged by receiving traditional stories from our partner schools and inventing new endings to them. In an oral history project children will ask their grandparents to tell them stories of their life when they were school children. These “his”tories will be displayed and commented on on the joint website in eTwinning. At the end of the project a presentation and exhibition of all the project work undertaken will take place at all schools. Throughout the project there will be an ongoing exchange of letters, emails and cards between partner classes. In the class exchanges the children will have the opportunity to meet their partner children and present their stories and plays to them in a story telling event.
Pupils will be able to visit each others schools on the mobility. This will provide opportunities for them to take part in story telling and acting out their plays to each other.

We are going to raise international awareness, tolerance and respect with primary schools across Europe by forging beneficial intercultural links through getting the pupils in contact with each other through emails and letters as penpals. This will create many opportunities for children from all social backgrounds, races, religions and educational abilities to join together and intergrate in a joint European project. Especially for the handicapped pupils the project will provide a great hands on experience for them to understand more about the world around them and get a deeper understanding of geographical and cultural concepts. This project will improve children's own abilities in reading and creative writing in their mother tongue as well as in foreign languages. In the story telling and drama activities the children’s oral and presentation skills will be improved. hide
