EEQ is a Comenius Project approved for the period 2011/2013.
The partnership consists of 6 schools from as many countries (Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Bulgaria).
It will involve secondary education pupils and teachers from each school.
The main objective of our project is to draw students’ attention to one of the main problems Europe is facing: energy management.
We want to create growing energy awareness and induce our students to become well informed, responsible energy consumers with an interest in sustainable development, that relies on efficient, less contaminating technologies.
Students will also learn about the important role renewable energies are bound to play in the European Union’s plight for reducing energy dependency on other countries.
- Subjects: Environmental Education
- Languages: EN
- Pupil's age: 12 - 16
- Tools to be used: e-mail, Forum, Other software (Powerpoint, video, pictures and drawings), Project Diary, Twinspace, Video conference, Web publishing

Energy awareness based on profound knowledge of efficient, less contaminating technologies in the field of energy production and consumption is an important contribution to the protection of our environment for future generations.
Further objectives to be achieved: We want the students
- to cooperate with students from different countries and reach deep understanding through the creation of lasting relationships between the schools involved,
- to discover and become acquainted with the environmental heritage of their own and their partners' countries,
- to improve their ability in verbal and non verbal languages and ICT,
- to learn through a task-based approach,
- to strengthen their ability to find solutions and develop a constructive and critical attitude towards changes as the project builds up,
- to incorporate new knowledge and interdisciplinarity to acquire the concept of knowledge unity,
- to reflect on methodology while designing the final product in traditional - and possibly also digital - form,
- to engage in constructive European competitivity in a game, with all the knowledge acquired along the project realization.
These objetives will be achieved by addressing the following subjects:
- Understand the historical, social and economic motives of the environmental transformation.
- Study the various technologies used for energy production.
- Recognize the benefits of renewable energies.
- Become familiar with the concept of ecological footprint of energies.
- Analyze the improvements in plants efficiency.
- Discuss and assess the geopolitical factors that affect energy issues.
Our task-based approach is collaborative and practical.
The students, as the main actors in the project, will carry out the tasks of : data research, collection and processing, set up, check up and assessment of the project work through the final product. hide

1- Coordination of the project activities between the different partners. (Spain)
2- The aforementioned as contact persons will be in charge of keeping up communication channels between partners.
3- Each school will name one or two teachers in charge of the work team or teams and let the coordinator know names.
4- Quarterly videoconferences between partners to follow up achievements and update the agenda.
5- Meeting of at least one member of each partner at key stages.
6- For each meeting, the host country will be in charge of organization.
7- The coordinating partner (Spain) will provide a tool for collaborative work (eTwinning) and create a blog and a virtual album in which each partner will include the work they have carried out.
Content tasks
1- Generation of templates to support the data (between all partners)
2- In the initial stages of the project the study of plants (Traditional/Renewable/Renewable traditional) will be shared out, so that the pupils carry out field research related with the reality of their territory.
3- The initial sharing out of plants to be researched ensures the involvement of each partner since it is initially each school's own work to be later put in common and used by all to learn from the plants researched in the other countries.
- Conventional plants: Coal / Fuel-oil / Gas / Nuclear / Hydroelectric
- Alternative plants: Solar photovoltaic / Solar thermal / Windfarms / Geothermal / Tidal power / Biomass
4- Generation of a data sheet about each type of plant selected by each partner.
Content:
Plant history
Resources it uses
Working of the plant
Main elements
Technical data sheet
Name
Nominal power
Performance
Use factor
Capital investment
Combustible
CO2 emission
5- The coordinating centre will create a virtual album to be extracted from the documents shared by every partner.
6- Each partner will create an outline of a STRATEGY GAME and present different options for its composition. These will be put in common and the most adequate will be selected.
7- All partners generate questions for the development of the strategy game and its making.
With eTwinning we will organize a work space (TwinSpace) where all participants (teachers and pupils) will be registered and will be able to communicate effectively, we will make a project schedule, a calendar will be held with rough dates when the pupils have to hand out their work and we will have a blog (TwinBlog) to publish the results.
All partners will have personal e-mail addresses and Skype accounts of the participating contact persons, so that they can communicate effectively along the project development.
The coordinating partner will follow up the work at intervals and check the observance of the dates by watching the material uploaded by each school.
Quarterly videoconferences will be held between partners, to follow up achievements and update the agenda.
Physical meetings of at least one member of each partner will be held at key stages. hide

- EEQ strategy game rules, written in a document and agreed upon by all partners.
- Board, pawns and elements constitutive of EEQ strategy game.
- EEQ strategy game and test phase carried out by students having taken part in the project.
