In a virtual learning environment, the pupils can learn to know each other, share information and experiences and learn English and other foreign language communication and ICT skills at the same time.
The pupils will learn to know each other and share relevant information about their cultures( school life , hobbies,family life , Xmas, food , holidays …). They will also use ICT to communicate and present their work.. Language and ICT skills will be developed.

• The eTwinning course with 10-12 topic spaces is created in the Moodle environment
• The actual topic contents can be constructed gradually at the pace and order agreed by the partners – so the topics given below are just suggestions
• Pupils create their own accounts and profiles
• Pupils can be divided into groups of e.g. 12 (six boys and girls of each country)

• Moodle course settings: no guests allowed, key to join
• Permissions from parents for children under eighteen for publishing their photos (safely) and creating an email account (if necessary).
October - Introductions
Forum
• Each student writes a short letter of introduction in the Moodle. Pupils read each other’s letters and reply to (at least) two by asking for more information.
• Instructions for pupils: tell you name and age. Tell a little about your likes and dislikes, your family, your hobbies and your favourite things. You can also describe what you look like and what kind of person you are.

• small groups can get to know each other by chatting

Forum
• Each student writes a letter in the Moodle forum.
Draw your family
• Pupils draw pictures of their homes and families
• The pictures are scanned and linked to Moodle as a PowerPoint presentation in SlideShare or download the file itself.
• Pupils from the partner school try to combine the picture with a letter written in the forum and guess whose family is in each picture.
• they can comment on the pictures and ask more questions.

• each student chooses one person from his/her own country and presents him/her on a PowerPoint slide. It can be a singer, a writer, an athlete, a musician, a politician…
