"World’s book is written by maths language and its carachters are triangles, circles and other different geometric shapes, without these tools it is impossible to understand human words, without these tools it is how to wander in a dark labyrinth” Galileo Galilei wrote it in “Il saggiatore” (1623). After him B. Mandelbrot in "Les objects Fractals" of 1975 continued "... observing nature, we see that the mountains are not cones, clouds are not spheres, coastlines are not circles but are geometrically very complex objects " .
Maths describe the reality around us: nature, arts, architecture…by shape and models.
The mathematical model of a “real event” is an abstracting process, it has these steps:
1)to analyze the problem or a shape,
2)to describe it and to advance a simulation,
3) to use a universal symbolic language.
Modeling process proceeds on successive steps to create a dynamic interaction between Real World and Mathematical world, above all to describe it in Maths Words. Our Maths words are: linear and not linear equations, geometric figures (circles, straight-lines, parables.) and geometric transformations (affinity, rotation..)
REAL WORLD IN MATHS WORDS project is a real grow up opportunity for the European students, because they can change experiences and discover new and different aspects about their city, region, country and other different European countries

to discover maths around us using maths language: geometry and algebric equations;
to learn linear and not linear models in Cartesian geometry;
to analyze our city, our region, our country principal architectures (as bridges, monuments, squares;) and nature’s shapes in mathematical point of view .
to increase the use of the new tecnologies in the traditional didactic (Derive, Cabri Geometre, Geogebra)
to make conjectures and individual simulations during the work.
to compare different education systems in maths
to improve English language use in maths’s subjects. hide
