The purpose of this partnership is to have children (between the ages of 4-14) conducting a survey about saving the earth. For this, 100 people from different age groups, cultural and social backgrounds will be chosen from each country and they will be directed 10 questions with short answers. Students will take a picture of each person they conduct the survey and the pictures will be published along with the questionnaire.
After conducting the surveys, they will be sent to partners school that will analyse the questionnaires and visualize the findings. Afterwards each school will compare the answers from different countries and different groups to same questions and prepare material ( brochures, handouts, models) that is sent out to all participating schools to be used in their lessons. Translation work will be done by teachers and students for each answer.
At the end, a website will be published in which there are hundreds of portraits with thousands of different answers about environment from different countries. I believe it will have a big impact on environment issue.

They will be in touch with their mates from abroad in virtual classrooms and face to face from time to time and exchange some e-mails in order to decide, for example, the questions of the survey or just explain how their work is going.

- Work process: Will be made clear after finding the partners.

(The virtual classroom software that we have in our school enables the teachers use an interactive white board and has the ability to manage the classroom such as in a real classroom. The virtual classroom might be called as the simulation of real classroom environment. The instructor can use presentations during the lesson and can have instant quizzes or surveys in order to find out to what extent the lesson is being followed by the students. The students raise hands in order to ask a question and they can speak and use the white board simultaneously under the control of the instructor. So, before and during the project, the virtual classroom will make it possible to unite students and teachers from different countries in one classroom and carry out the project in virtual environment.)
In April 2010, students will start work on the project. The five or six participating schools create a questionnaire consisting 10 questions about environment to analyse the people’s awareness and the project will consist on developing different activities (surveys, collecting data, make conclusions) about what do people do to save our planet at home and what it is done in their town.
For this purpose, partner schools will decide on how to choose 100 people for conducting the survey in each country. 100 people will be from different age groups, educational and cultural backgrounds, financial status, etc. For example;
10 of them (between the ages of 5-8)
10 of them (between the ages of 10-25)
10 of them (over 80)
10 of them (housewives)
10 of them (wealthy businessmen) and so on...
After deciding the profiles, students will find the specific people, ask the same questions to all of them and take their pictures. So they will have 100 portraits and 1000 answers. When you think about 5 partners, it makes 500 portraits and 5000 answers to very important 10 questions.
After conducting the surveys, they will be sent to one partner school that will compare and analyse the questionnaires and visualize the findings. Afterwards each school will compare the answers from different countries and different groups to same questions and prepare material ( brochures, handouts, models) that is sent out to all participating schools to be used in their lessons.
