An English and a German primary school are going to work in this project together with children that are starting to learn a foreign language. In this case the language will be French. They want to share their experiences by uploading videos of songs, rhymes, little plays and photos. The teachers will exchange the material using during their lessons. Doing it this way, they will support each other by crossing the border and discovering something new together – the different mother tongues won’t be a barrier.

They will e.g. discover new words, learn new songs, rhymes and stories. Sharing these experiences with other children can be an additional motivation, especially if they come from another country. In this project the pupils all start nearly at the same level. So they can discover things together and exchange their experiences on the Twinspace. Although their first languages and also their backgrounds are different, there will be something they will have in common, something that connects them and crosses the border. hide

The teachers will exchange their ideas and material continuously using email, the Twinspace and chat. They will plan activities for both the English and the German pupils. To evaluate the pupils' improvements during the year, they will upload videos frequently. They will also give the pupils the possibility to watch their “classmates” from the other countries and learn about the progresses the others are making. hide

The videos on the Twinspace can be used as topics for classroom talks about school-life in GB/Germany. Perhaps the children will also have the possibility to get email-contact with the other class, using their new knowledge – writing in French will be an exciting experience for both. Doing something together helps us crossing borders and feeling as a team. We want our pupils to be a real, living part of the European Union. As teachers we hope to get new ideas for our work and offering lively subjects to our pupils. hide
