In this project, it is intended to develop communication skills in English and to establish relationships of friendship between children from different countries of Europe. The partner classes will present information regarding International Child Day celebration. The students will look for similarities and differences between traditions of their countries and will try to apply traditions from other countries. They will make paintings or other art works using different materials, suggesting their own point of view regarding a happy childhood. They will present in a PowerPoint presentation their most important activity.

• Work process: Teachers involved in this project will discuss with their students, in maternal language, then in English, about the meaning of... read moreTeachers involved in this project will discuss with their students, in maternal language, then in English, about the meaning of „happy childhood”. In order to realize how lucky they are to have a real childhood, with a family, they can read stories about unhappy children. The story “The Little Match Girl” by H. Chr. Andersen will be read or another appropriate story from the national literature. Children involved in this project will make paintings, drawings or collages representing their own vision of a happy childhood. Their creations will be presented in exhibitions in every partner school. The partner classes will choose a game or a custom usually related to Child Day and will do a short presentation of it. An exchange of games and customs will be made. On June 1st, the International Child Day, each partner class will organize activities, applying one of their customs and another one of a partner class. The most significant moments will be photographed. Children will make one sentence for every image and will create a PowerPoint presentation of their activity. They will write an article about their activity and this will be published in their school magazine (or class magazine). hide
