They begin by introducing themselves, country and culture. The project will be based on information gap activities to stimulate interest. They will also learn a few words in their correspondants language to enhance their letter-writing.

1.Pupils could introduce themselves (name, age, town, family & Physical description and ask a few questions)
Step 1: me and my life
Introduce yourself. What is your name, how old are you, are you a boy or a girl? Write about your hobbies and what you like and don’t like such as food and pets. Describe your best friend(s). Also ask your partner about the same things. It is fun to send a picture of yourself along as an attachment.
Step 2: me and my family
Write about your family and your household. Include pets, parent’s jobs, rules in the house, household chores, and what you can and can’t do in your family. Don’t forget to ask your partner about his / her family. You will find out there are lots of differences between you and your partner. Maybe you can take photographs of your parents, brothers, sisters and so on and send it along as an attachment.
2.
If parents allow this, perhaps put a school photo on etwinning picture gallery. (no individual photos)
Pupils have to guess who their correspondant is by using email received.
Or complete a blank stick figure

The creamy combination of yogurt, cucumber, and garlic makes tzatziki a refreshing appetizer that can be eaten alone, with bread, or as an accompaniment to vegetables, meat dishes, and pita wraps. It is one of the dips for which Greece is most well-known. Making it for a large group? Try adding grated carrots to increase the quantity (1 carrot for each cup of yogurt used). They add a nice crunch and don't affect the taste.

3. Their correspondant's country: Pupils of both countries are given blank maps of correspondants country.
In their email, each penpal give his correspondant information he has to complet on the map.
*eg. I live in the South of Greece.
The name of my town is
Greece is surrounded by.......
The capital of Greece is
The main rivers are
In the capital you can see
*The pupil then scans the map and sends it back to his/her correspondant for correction.
4. Global warming in your friend's country:
i) Pupils find a definition of global warming on internet.
http://environment.nationalgeographic.com/environment/global-warming/gw-causes.html?referrer=epals
They then write their own definition and find a translation in their penpal's language.
They find one problem that affects them in their daily lives.
ii)Pupils imagine a disastrous vision of their country in 200 years time as it would be if we hadn't taken of the earth( no rain, pollutin, no forests., floods....)
http://environment.nationalgeographic.com/environment/photos/ocean-pollution.html
iii)Each penpal then talks about ways to save the planet and asks their friend one question.
eg. no plastic bags in supermarkets
save water
switch off lights
sort out rubbish
recylcing
iii)¨Pupils then write a comparative paragraph.
In Greece my correspondant switches the lights off in his home whereas we don't. etc
And conclude by saying how they would like their planet to be for their children.
5. If I come to your country for a holiday?
