Our school is a primary school in a village called Algyő. It is in the south-east of Hungary not too far from a big city , Szeged. The environmental education and nature protection are central tasks in our school and we have been able to develop this attitude in our pupils’ mind with everyday practice since they started school. Through the environmental education we try to change the parents’ approach in the question of protecting nature and we think we could do it. We usually organize irregular lessons held by zoo-educators in the zoo. We have organized forest school in our schedule for many years. The students of Szeged University, Gyula Juhász College have their teaching practice in Environmental Studies in our school. We are one of the establisher member of the Hungarian Eco-School System. Our main partners are civil associations dealing with protecting nature. Our pupils are from 6 to 15. Some of our pupils have problems with their behaviour and learning, thus we have to provide adequate facilities for them. They learn special study skills, organizational techniques that can help them compensate for their learning disability. So we do our best to solve the questions of the chance for equality with tutoring and talent spotting. So our project idea is about nature and environment. We would work together in questions of global warming, energy and things like these.
