I'm a teacher and I have students whose ages are between 9 and 11. We are applying a project "I love my city and I want everybody to know İt."We made our study as a power point presentation and sent it to all schools in Balıkesir. Then, we present it to you for share with our English Teacher Kübra ŞİMŞEK. Our students will present their works, which they make with their newly-learnt English, for peer sharing.We will have a different activity per week.Some surprises are waiting for you.Our aim is not just to introduce our city to the world but also learn about other places in the world.In other words,we want to broaden mind with the help of peer sharing.If you follow us every week you will know us and our culture.The more we share, the more we grow.We can make the world smile only with children. |

If you accept our offer, I expect you will send a reply and the form to me. In brief, our project; It is clear that music with its universal language is able to bring together all the differences. The removal of prejudices can be internalized with the unifying component of music. It is necessary that cultures should understand each other in order to break the chain of prejudices which have been increasing in Europe. Music, appealing to the feelings rather than to the mind can be a pioneer to achieve that. A cultural tolerance atmosphere can be created with the different cultures’ understanding of each other’s music and in this way, of their feelings. That various cultures sing folkloric music of the other cultures with their local instruments will enable to destroy the prejudices emotionally. The general aim of this project is to enable that, with the universal language of music, children have a higher level of love, respect and tolerance rather than differences and prejudices.
