Share ideas with fellow eTwinners in an eTwinning Group

picture

eTwinning Groups are private platforms for eTwinners to discuss and work together on a specific topic or theme. Moderated by an experienced eTwinner, each Group sets out activities and tasks for teachers to do and discuss. Topics vary from languages teaching and collaborative writing to experimental sciences. The aim is for eTwinners to share practice examples, discuss teaching and learning methodologies and find support for professional development.

eTwinning Groups are specifically for teachers and can remain open as long-term discussion platforms. If you are interested in joining an existing Group, log in your eTwinning Desktop and go to the section “Groups”. Click on the group of your choice. Whereby you will be presented with a registration form to fill in. You can join as many Groups as you like, but please remember, that the philosophy of eTwinning Groups is that of sharing and contributing.

Any teacher interested in coordinating a Group can apply to lead a group on a particular topic; he/she will be asked to draft a document outlining the envisaged activity of the Group. To do this all would-be-Group leaders are sent a set of questions (a planning tool) that helps them focus on a number of aspects. If interested, you may write an email to groups@etwinning.net. The proposal is then examined by the eTwinning Team.

A word of caution: eTwinning Groups are not the tools for finding partners: the “find eTwinners” tool is specifically designed for that purpose. Registration to a Group is not an automatic process: some time may elapse between your registration and you receiving the invitation to join the Group. Group leaders as well might want to limit participation for different reasons. Please, be patient and do not resend your registration.
