What is the National Quality Label?
The National Quality Label is concrete recognition to teachers and schools of the high level of their eTwinning activities within their project work. Teachers and pupils get a public affirmation of their work efforts and their commitment to quality and openness in European collaborative work. These teachers and their projects become exemplars to others in regards to what is possible to achieve within the eTwinning Action.
How does it work? You can apply through your eTwinning Desktop under the section ‘My Projects’. The National Support Service (NSS) in each country evaluates applications from schools for the national Quality Label. Labels are awarded throughout the year, however, in some countries, deadlines are fixed so be sure to consult your NSS for information about this. Once the application is accepted or rejected, your NSS will contact you. If your application is accepted, you will receive a special certificate with your name that you can access on your ‘My Projects’ Page as a special National Quality Label icon. NEW! Pupil certificate! (September 2011) To also give recognition to your pupils for their commitment and hard work during an eTwinning project, a special National Quality Label certificate template for your pupils is now also available. From the same location in your Desktop, a second icon for your pupils will appear if you have been accepted. The certificate will have your project’s name and you can then add your pupils’ names by hand. How is the National Quality Label linked to the European Quality Label and the European Prizes Competition? If more than one partner receives a National Quality Label for the same project, these two or more individuals then automatically receive a European Quality Label. Please note that the European Quality Label is awarded only once a year (every September). Therefore, please check with your National Support Service for your national deadlines for the September awarding. The European Quality Label is a pre-requisite to apply for the European Prizes (applications will open in October 2011). Partners who have not received a European Quality Label are not eligible to participate in the eTwinning Prizes 2012 competition.
