The eTwinning Camp 2008 was held in Vimeiro, Portugal, from 11-15 May.

Teachers and pupils from the winning eTwinning Prizes 2008 projects headed to Vimeiro, Portugal, from 7-11 May to spend four days by the ocean getting to know each other and taking part in both ICT and cultural related activities. With a group of over 100 people, everyone had a great time and many friends were made. By the final morning, it was quite hard to say goodbye!

The camp opened with a welcome speech from Teresa Evaristo, Vice-Director for Innovation and Curriculum Development at the Portuguese Ministry of Education. From there all participants took part in interactive sessions about intercultural dialogue to learn about each other and how differences and similarities can play important roles in communication.

Over the course of the remaining three days, the group took part in a number of sport activities, workshops on ICT, a day trip to Lisbon, a disco and – as the real highlights of the entire camp – two evening programmes whereby each country put on wonderful performances to celebrate their culture and show off some quite impressive talent.

For full details about what the 2008 winners did during the four days, please have a look at the ETWINNING CAMP 2008 BLOG.
