A new TwinSpace!

picture

A new version of the TwinSpace has now been launched for eTwinning projects.

The eTwinning TwinSpace is an online area where eTwinning project members (teachers and pupils) meet, collaborate and share their work. Every eTwinning project has its own private TwinSpace and if they so choose, they can also publish their TwinSpace so that it’s visible to everyone.

Based on the feedback and use of the TwinSpace over the last few years, especially in relation to the new eTwinning Portal which was launched in September 2008, we are pleased to announce that a new version of the TwinSpace has now been launched.

What does the new TwinSpace offer?

The new TwinSpace aims to both simplify project work and allow teachers and pupils to have a more intuitive interface, where the process of getting to know each other is more attractive and project activities are facilitated.

New features include: a Staff Room, Pupils' Corner, blogs, wikis and much more!

Please note that safety and privacy still remain a top priority in eTwinning and thus all personal information will always be kept restricted, even within published TwinSpaces.

What does this mean for already-running projects?

To avoid disrupting the way current project are running – and bearing in mind the fact that most eTwinning projects take place within one school year only – ongoing projects will keep the old TwinSpace platform while all new projects will use the new TwinSpace platform:

  • New TwinSpace = Projects approved after 1 September 2009
  • Old TwinSpace = Projects approved before 1 September 2009

If you would like to transfer your already-running project to the new eTwinning TwinSpace in September, please close your project and register a new one. As it is the new school year, this is also an excellent opportunity to re-organise how you are working to fit the new platform.

We hope you enjoy the new TwinSpace!
