eTwinning is now featuring a number of kits linked to other European initiatives. Find out how you can turn one of these kits into a winner.

Over the next few months, many European initiatives are running competitions that fit nicely within the context of eTwinning. For this reason, specialised eTwinning kits are now available for your use and eventual participation in these competitions.

1. Surf the Net – Think Privacy!

If you feel concerned about the use of your personal information and privacy risks online, and would like to share your thoughts about this in a creative way, just take out your video camera or your mobile phone and make a 30-90 second movie!

  • This kit was produced for the DataProtection Competition. The deadline to submit entries is 15 January 2009.
  • The Prize? You can win up to 1000€ to use towards buying school equipment.

** NB: The best eTwinning videos using the DataProtection kit will be featured at the upcoming eTwinning conference in February 2009 in front of over 400 participants! **

2. Celebrating the Euro

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the euro, this project aims to raise awareness of the economic background of the euro, give an appreciation of the history of the EU monetary union and discuss the emergence of the euro.

  • This kit was produced for the Eurocompetition. The deadline to submit entries is 31 December 2008.
  • The Prize? Individual entries can win a digital camera and a trip to Brussels for a special event.

3. Energy is our Future

This kit provides ideas and a set of related resources to help teachers enhance their curriculum with energy-related activities in school.

  • The kit is based on the Energy is Our Future school programme. The deadline to submit entries is 29 April 2009.
  • The Prize? Prizes include a trip to Brussels and digital cameras.

All three kits are available under the “CULTURE” section of the eTwinning kits page.
