eTwinning from the inside: join a starter project

If you are new to eTwinning, or you’re unsure of how to launch a project, join our special starter projects led by eTwinning expert teachers.

Get involved immediately in an eTwinning project! How? By joining one of the starter projects designed as a 'taster' for you to try out the activities.

Led by Marianne Schembri and Tiina Sarisalmi, from the European eTwinning Teachers Team, the starter projects will guide participants through the beginning phases of an eTwinning project through interactive activities and tasks. Using the tools available on the eTwinning Desktop and TwinSpace, Marianne and Tiina will help teachers see what is possible in a project.

 
“A Taste of My Life” – for teachers and pupils
Marianne’s project will give you and your pupils working together using a number of tools in order to get to know one another.
 

“eTwinning for Teachers” – for teachers
Tiina’s project will focus on the teaching side of eTwinning and provide support for teachers wanting to get involved in international ICT collaboration.

 

How to join?

• Login to the eTwinning Portal with your username and password (if you are not registered, you can do so here)
• From you Desktop, click on the Partner Finding area tab.
• Type “Marianne Schembri” or “Tiina Sarisalmi” in the blue Search box and press enter.
• Click on the link “Marianne Schembri” or “Tiina Sarisalmi” to get a full profile view.
• Click on the envelope icon in the top right-hand corner of the page.
• Send a message with the subject “Starter project” and write that you would like to join.

Marianne and Tiina will then add you as a contact and you will receive an invitation in your Desktop to join their project. They will then assist you from there.
 
The projects will run until 16 December 2009 and will be conducted primarily in English.
