Building on the eTwinning Weeks

picture

While this October’s autumn campaign may be over, eTwinners are encouraged to continue promoting eTwinning both on and offline.

During the entire month of October, eTwinners were invited to take part in a number of online activities as well as national and regional events oganised by the National Support Services for the eTwinning Weeks 2010

With the launch of the new school year and a brand-new eTwinning Desktop, visits to the Portal were greater than ever with a great increase in networking through Profiles; discussions in Teachers Rooms, Groups and special online sessions; and use of the Resources area.

As this year’s campaign focused on “promoting eTwinning” in the community, we invite eTwinners to continue doing so throughout the year in a number of ways:

  • Join a Teachers Room: using a chat and forum, discuss how you can integrate eTwinning in your school life (NB: Teachers Rooms are for discussions, not for partner finding).
  • Update your Profile Journal regularly: be sure to write, post links and upload files on your journal to share what you are doing in eTwinning.
  • Contribute material in the Resources area: share useful presentations, files, links and text for other teachers to use. Tag promotional material as ‘promo_etwinning’.
  • Participate in a Learning Event: These popular 1-2 week online learning opportunities run by an expert on a specific theme are excellent for discovering new ways of learning.
  • Join an eTwinning Group: eTwinning Groups are private platforms where invited teachers run a number of activities and tasks around a central theme. Each group is moderated by an appointed teacher or expert.
  • Register an eTwinning project: Find partners, develop a project plan and get your pupils involved in eTwinning’s greatest collaborative school activity of all!

If you would like to further promote eTwinning in your community, here are a few resources produced at European level (for more resources contributed by eTwinners, check out the Resource section of the Desktop):

Best of luck for the remainder of the autumn term.
