Friends of eTwinning

eTwinning works in close collaboration with a number of international organizations and initiatives - known as “eTwinning Friends” – to provide eTwinning schools with a rich array of resources and support in their collaborative activities.

Eco-Schools is an international award programme working in sustainability. Eco-Schools works with eTwinning to support schools that wish to apply the Eco-Schools methodology in their eTwinning project work.

U4energy is a European Commission initiative, funded through the Intelligent Energy Europe programme, which aims to make Europe more competitive and innovative while helping it to deliver on its ambitious climate change objectives. U4energy has developed a special eTwinning Kit for schools.

Scientix is the community for science education in Europe. It was created to facilitate regular dissemination and sharing of know-how and best practices in science education across the European Union. Scientix is open for teachers, researchers, policy makers, parents and anyone interested in science education. Its resources are ideal for eTwinning projects in science.

Insafe is a European network of Awareness Centres empowering citizens to use the Internet, as well as other online technologies in a positive, safe and effective way. Insafe calls for shared responsibility for the protection of the rights and needs of citizens, in particular children and youth, by government, educators, parents, media, industry and all other relevant actors. Insafe provides guidelines to eTwinning for the safe use of the internet during collaborative project work.

EUROCLIO - European Association of History Educators - views history as the most important school subject for the political and civic development of young people. It is a structured channel for developing historical awareness of societies which aims to contribute to societal advancement in a constructive manner. Euroclio works with eTwinning to promote the subject of History in eTwinning project work through the support of specific project kits and Learning Events.

The Languages website of the European Commission informs about evolutions in European language policy and funding opportunities. It also presents various language-related initiatives and events supported by the EU. In the year 2010/2011 a series of activities was carried out to highlight language opportunities within eTwinning and European actions in the field.
