| Tülay CAN Hello, We are at a central school with 106 years of historical past in Karşıyaka of Province İzmir, near the historical and tourist areas and places like Ephesus, Pergamon, Seljuk and Mother Mary Church, in the Aegean Region,. It is a region that hosted many civilizations. We are in a city that has been the cradle of many civilizations since Hellenistic Era. Our city is a gulf city near the Aegean Sea. It is a very lovely holiday city with an international harbor and tourist areas. Whatever you look for such as sea, sand, sun, history, raki, fish, döner kebap and etc. are available here. Here, you may find both, holiday and history together. The town where our school has been located is a place near the gulf where the history and nature are within each other. Our school keep the students together, who have different cultures and economic abilities and coming from different districts of Karşıyaka. The students from various races and ethnic groups are educated together. Disadvantaged students with learning handicaps are being educated by means of merging education in our school. Also the students from different ethnic groups are socialized together by means of activities like folk dancing, public theatre and various handiwork (motifs). Our aim with this project is to share the stories of music, folklore, theatre and design on kilims (pileless carpet) which are the common language of the whole World, and to mix various cultures and form awareness that we are the part of Europe together. Our country and city are in a geography where the peace, friendship and tolerance are provided and developed.
