It... read moreThis project is a continuation of the project "measuring the circumference of the Earth" which ended in july 2008. It is based on the experience of Eratosthenes, curator of the library of Alexandria, that 2200 years ago, calculated in a simple way, the circumference of the Earth by comparing two shadows. Seven schools have participated in this eTwinning project. Since 2005, more than one hundred schools on the five continents took part in communicating the results of their experiments. It has now become necessary to divide this project and create two twin projects:
  Bibliotheca Eratosthenes for the archives.
  Forum Eratosthenes for the experiments.
  Acest proiect este o continuare a proiectului “Masurind circumferinta Pamintului” care sa incheiat in iulie 2008. Se bazeaza pe experienta lui Eratosthenes, curator al Bibliotecii din Alexandria, care cu 2200 de ani in urma, a calculate intrun mod simplu, circumferinta Pamintului prin compararea a doua umbre. Sapte scoli au participat la acest proiect eTwinning. Din 2005, mai mult de 1000 de scoli de pe cinci continente au colaborat comunicind rezultatele experimentelor lor. Este insa, de acum incolo, necesar sa dividem acest proiect si sa cream doua proiecte gemene:

Dan il-progett hu bbazat fuq esperjenza u konkluzjonijiet li Eratosthenes kien ghamel hafna snin ilu, ezattament, 2200 sena ilu. Dan Eratosthenes kien il-kuratur tal-Librerija ta’ Lixandra, fl-Egittu. Huwa kien kapaci jikkalkula kemm hi twila d-dawra tad-dinja b’mod semplici, billi qabbel ma’ xulxin zewg dellijiet differenti. B’kollox, kien hemm seba` skejjel li ppartecipaw fl-ewwel progett ta’ l-etwinning. Mill-2005 sa llum, aktar minn mitt skola mifruxin fuq il-hames kontinenti tad-dinja hadu sehem f’dan il-progett. Dan ghamluh billi qassmu ma’ xulxin ir-rizultat ta’ l-osservazzjonijiet ta’ l-esperimenti li huma ghamlu fl-iskola taghhom, f’hin u gurnata partikulari. They agree on a date with another school, to achieve simultaneously the experiment. Thus, by measuring the shadow of a vertical stick at noon local solar time and by exchanging their results , they are able to compute the Earth's size.They exchange also photographs and videos of their place of measurement and their environment in general.
