Students get to know each other. Later on they talk about healthy lifestyles. They take into consideration healthy eating habits and the importance of eating fruit and vegetables. They chat about doing sports and the significance of being athletic. They also discuss harmful bad habits like smoking, drinking and taking drugs and their influence on the human body.

- Work process: 1. The students get to know each other by means of preparing a PowerPoint presentation (name, town, interests, hobbies, family and... read more1. The students get to know each other by means of preparing a PowerPoint presentation (name, town, interests, hobbies, family and so on)
2. Using a WIKI tool, the students ask themselves questions using Present Simple (Do you drink coffee? How often do you eat apples? How many hours a day do you watch TV?)
3. The students work together on a definition of HEALTH (using a forum). What does it mean to be HEALTHY?
4. The students prepare a list of healthy food items. The students prepare a list of unhealthy food items. Healthy eating pyramid.
5. The students look for the names of different sports. They shortly describe the rules of the sport (e.g – Football – two teams of 11 people. They kick a ball. They can’t touch the ball with their hands. They have to score a goal). (Modal verbs – can/can’t – must/mustn’t)
6. Your friend wants to lose weight. The students write a short letter to a friend giving her advice how to do that. They practice the imperative. (Drink… Don’t drink..) and should/shouldn’t.
7. The students write a short composition (50-100 words) on the harmfulness of smoking.
8. The students discuss the topic of drinking alcohol and taking drugs. Possible effects in the future. (practice 1st conditional – If you drink alcohol, you will lose your friends)
9. The students prepare a motivational poster (e.g in Paint programme) on the harmfulness of smoking, drinking or taking drugs.
10. The students tell each other how they usually spend Christmas. (Present Simple)
11. The students describe their Christmas preparations using present perfect (I have already bough all the presents)
12. The students send themselves a parcel with Christmas cards.
13. The students discuss other possible addictions (watching TV, computer games, chocolate, coffee and so on)
