We teach French, Spanish and Italian and would be particularly keen to make links with an Italian school. We would also like to introduce Mandarin and Japanese, but to be honest we would relish links with ANY country! We would like to have a project that has potential for a foreign visit. |

Subjects: Biology,Chemistry,Informatics / ICT,Physics,Technology Languages: - EN - Are you intersted in joining us for an exciting project this year that motivates your staff and pupils to enjoy science? I am the Head of Science at Woodrush High School in Birmingham in the UK. I am looking to partner with a school anywhere in Europe who would like to take part in a joint physics project. I am hoping to secure funding for this projects so that both schools could purchase LEGO Mindstorm kits and then set up robotics clubs who would aim to build robots for racing while learning about the science behind it at the same time. We could keep in touch through an internet blog on the school's webiste and then on race week in March film our robots racing, time them, upload the videos and declare one country the winner! I would like it to lead to a Comenius partnership and develop into the summer term a robotic link to the olympics (do you think your pupils could build a better mini discus throwing robot than ours?). I would be great if we could get other departments from our schools on board as well and help build up a really strong link between the two schools. So if you're looking for an exciting partnership with a school in the heart of England get in touch! |
